Hood bra
Hi guys I bought a leather hood bra that sits on the front of the hood and protects it from rock chips and it has 3 hooks that are supposed to go into the holes under the hood is it ok if I remove the hood insulation to install it do I really need the insulation

The insulation on your hood inner has several functions. It insulates the hood from higher temps, reduces localized hot spots and insulates noise.
Over time, the extra heat can accelerate degradation of the paint, especially the clear coat. You probably have seen this on some older cars. Since the hood is aluminum it has twice the thermal expansion coefficient of steel, so hot spots might cause problems with the shape or integrity of the hood. The bond between the inner and outer panels and hems might be affected. Although I'm not certain this is a primary factor it may be a concern.
Let's face it: Honda went to great lengths to minimize the weight toward the front of the S2000 but stuck a big sheet of felt in the front and high in the car. That is the exact opposite location the would want weight added. If they felt it was unnecessary they would have left it out.

You can take it out. The CR doesnt come with one from the factory. Its mostly for noise. You may also be able to leave it in and just take the plastic pins out.

Leather bra? I thought those died in the 80's, along with New Wave music.
Leather bras were found to cause more damage than they protect from. Wind buffeting. Dirt and grit would get under it, and that buffeting would act like sandpaper.
Get the clear bra stuff. Clear coat adhesive. The good stuff doesn't yellow over time. Protects from rock chips.

Occasionally I agree with Car Analogy. This is one of those times.
