Looks good. So it seems we have one positive review and one that didn't work out. Anyone else try these yet? I'm tempted to try them just because they are pretty cheap.

Osram CBI's FTW! Best bulb available, IMO. Morimotos (generally most aftermarket bulbs) are hit and miss. You get what you pay for.

Verdict

These bulbs completely changed the way i see at night. It's significantly brighter than my previous 6000k Bulbs. They are also brighter than the OEM bulbs my car original had. The color temperature also makes things easier to see and adds a lot of contrast that i prefer over the 4300k bulbs. Uniform distribution of light and no issues with hotspots is a huge plus over the less expensive HID bulbs. Overall, the best bang for you buck light i ever used, amazing.

10/10
What is this Fresnel lens you speak of? I've never heard of it. Is it an upgrade to the Stock 06+ lens? I have an 07 and I dont think my lights look nearly as bright as that

I believe the AP1s had a completely clear lens, while the AP2s had more of a "frosted" or fresnel lens.

EDIT:

These are fresnel:

I haven't tried these yet but I put the Osram CBIs on wifey's Z car. I love them. It's time for me to replace my headlights now and I'm considering another set for my AP2. They were a bit pricey but I was impressed with the results. I used The Retrofit Source as well.

I was tempted to get these but I checked on Amazon and the Osrams were just over $140. With the price gap closed, are these Morimotos still worth it?

I purchased some XB35's in 4300k a couple of months ago and for $50 I wasn't expecting them to be the best bulbs on the planet.

Out of the box they looked pretty well built. Once installed I noticed they have more of a yellow tint than other 4300k bulbs. After a couple months they are still pretty yellow.

The first week or two the passenger side would not ignite the first time I turned on the lights. Flip them off then back on and it fired. This stopped happening about the 2nd or 3rd week.

My biggest complaint is the hot spot that one of the bulbs has. I swapped them side to side and reseated a few times and one bulb still has the hot spot. I think its just a defective bulb, but I'm not gonna waste anymore of my time by sending them back. CBI's are already ordered.

Pictures were at about 10-15ft from the garage.

You got the older model that aren't as new as the latest generation perhaps.

The newer model comes in 4500k, 5500k, 6500k

I will also concur that the older Morimoto 35w bulbs arent very well built. I bought 6000k's from TRS about 2 years ago and after about 3 weeks, one bulb shifted to purple while the other remained light blue. TRS is amazing when it comes to communication and warranty replacement. They sent me out a replacement and it matched the other kelvin rating. After about 8 months, one bulb started flickering on hard cornering and after lengthy ballast swapping I attribute it to a connection in the bulb. I just ordered the xb35 5500k so we'll see how this new batch brand is.
