Nitrous Guide..A good place to start if you're looking into nitrous

if you plan on setting it at 12.1 it will cut on. ive been sprayed and even had a rich tune and i can tell you that is to rich. i would set it at 13.5 if i had a lean fuel shut down. i would average 12.5 on spray and it moved, never saw detonation on the plugs or anything.

I see. S2k dre recommended the 12.1 and has been spraying a 75 wet shot for over 2 years now without issues, so that seemed to be reasonable. I might set it a little higher and just see what happens. From there I can check the plugs and everything and see what's going on, and i'll be sure to post up what ends up working well for me. Thanks for the additional info.
Also as I go I might add or edit information in the OP, that way people won't have to look through the whole thread to get 1 peice of information.

Nice write up. It is so tempting too...I was saving up for a supercharger, but this might be a better option. Still alot of time before I pull the plug, but now I have more to consider!
Thanks for the write up and the DIY!

No problem! Yeah since i'm not going to be spraying all the time it's definetly going to be cheaper for me. It's going to cost me around $80 to fill both 10lb bottles, and each bottle will last me a couple months, so it will take me approx 4 months to get through both bottles. That's only $240 a year on filling up the bottles which isn't bad at all since i'm only spending $1000 on my whole nitrous setup, while a supercharger is probably going to cost $5000+ on everything.

Question. So you said you are going to be checking the plugs. Are you JUST doing that to see if you are running rich? I have a wideband so I wouldn't really have any need to check mine regularly right? So long as it's running correctly.

Yeah i'll be checking them often to see if they look like they have been running rich, lean, ect..even if my AFR's look good. It's better safe then sorry and it isn't hard to check them. So yeah I would check them regularly just to be 100% sure. If you run the coppers like i'm going to, you should be replacing them every 3-4k miles so you shouldnt have any problems. Just make sure if you're running a 75-100 shot you get 1 step colder plugs or you might have one melt on you which won't be good, the ones I listed in the OP would be the best.

Yes u can run the afr in the low 12's while sprayin but i stay in the mid 11's for safety. Its worth to loose a little power just to be safe. I never have lean spikes. As soon as the wot switch opens im in the low 11's. But that might change when u go up to a 100 shot.
