Would it be any different effect if it's like ~8" from the throttle body? I already tapped into the intake because I was following instructions but my friend said he doesn't see it being effective that far away from the tb.

I had it the same place you did. I just feel that when I start spraying from a long distance, some nitrous and fuel will go through the 2 rubber hose that leads to the valve cover and air pump. Plus I definitely feel a slight "lag" since it's further from the intake which scientifically should be normal
