Default Off the shelf HFC with OEM heat shields

Hi guys,

What do you think of our new part? We kept the inlet flange and pipe 63.5mm up until the HFC opens up. Then the exit we have 3 different sizes. 63.5mm, 70mm, & 75mm exit to the cat back flange. Cel fix is included. We've seen custom HFC mods with heat shields in the past. We thought it would be nice to have an off the shelf made for those who like this look. We made certain the heat shields are positioned the same as factory at the same mounting angle as well. Thanks for checking this out. Feedback is welcome.

MF, nice!

So I would reuse my old heat shields from oem cat, right? You don't supply those I would expect. But do you supply the hardware fasteners to mount my heat shields to your new cat? Is the hardware stainless?

This is really convenient. I am glad someone is doing this.

The tabs are stainless, right? How are they welded to the pipe? Using copper mig wire?

One more thing. In the photo it looks like the cat flange is crooked to the header flange. Like the cat flange is not square to header flange. Is that just an illusion from the angle of the photo or something?

Yes

You can re-use OEM hardware. Simply 10mm Honda bolts and nuts. Metric size is M6x1.0.

Yes the entire product is stainless steel construction.

They are made Tig welded. Not Mig.

Funny we didn't even notice that in our photo. It may just have been we tightened the header bolts to the cat on one side first making it a little crooked when we tightened the other side. Good eyes. Regardless I can assure you this is modeled and made after an original factory Cat.

Here is a photo of our Jig with the factory Cat. We made sure the tabs for the heat shield are in the same place as stock.

That is cool showing us your jig. Thanks!

I am definitely interested. Currently saving for purchase of hfc cat and Flashpro. It sounds like its the same core as the Berk, which is what I was going to get. I was going to add the stock heatshields, so your cat saves me a step and a bunch of hassle. How much is this cat (63.5 mm version)? Maybe a link to page with pricing?

Great. Thanks.

So that price is a bit higher than a popular competitors, but yours has the brackets for the heat shield built in, which is certainly worth some extra cost (to those that want to reuse the shields). Not having to deal with fabbing brackets, welding on a new cat, worrying if the shop doing the welding is doing it right (not creating a weak spot prone to rust), the welds won't fatigue and break, and the effort to get the brackets at the correct angle, etc, all that is worth it to me to just buy yours.

The Magnaflow core, which series is it? Is it one of their spun cores? Metallic?

I'm eager to hear reviews. Another new hfc on the market, reviewed on this forum, has been criticized for having more exhaust odor than the popular competitor that has been around for a long time. That was enough to turn my interest away from that other newcomer. So I'm eager to hear how yours compares!

I wish this was around when I bought my old exhaust, no brainer. This is the only product (cat or test pipe) I've seen that starts at the collector diameter and ends with your desired exit diameter.

Consider making a test pipe like this with the heat shield tabs too. It would probably pass simple visual inspection states like PA. Ethically and legally debatable though
