Invidia Q300 Dual Catback
Hey guys
Recently got an Invidia Q300 dual catback with the Titanium tips, bolted it up a few days ago and god damn it looks beautiful however after turning it over it sounds NOTHING like the 20 youtube clips i've heard of this exhaust kind of a real shame.
It sounds INCREDIBLY loud kind of like dual cannons and drones heavily, after reading heaps of reviews on S2Ki & listening to countless videos i was under the impression it was abit louder than stock and only screams up top unfortunately mine is TOTALLY different and is loud as shit from 2k-9k.
I've previously had loud modified cars (Evo, STI, DC5R) but this distinct sound i'm getting sounds really cheap and loud kind of like a bolt on cannon on a Civic EG - nothing i would expect from a quality piece on the F20
Car has no other exhaust work (Stock cat/header) and only runs an Injen CAI, i thought maybe there was an exhaust leak somewhere or i installed it incorrectly but after triple checking it all bolts are tight as rocks, 2 muffler bends is solid and there is no leaks anywhere on the exhaust.
Will the sound change over time? or should i start looking at custom exhaust work to change the tone or adding a HFC?
I've noticed alot of you guys run this exhaust - what are your experiences with this exhaust

Should quiet down a little over time I believe. Was this also on a cold engine? Of course that would make it much louder.
It is not quiet like stock like some people like to say. Those people are simply deaf.

Nah car was warmed up and driven for a good 30-45mins, sounded pretty crap the entire time no matter whatever revs it was on
The loudness isn't really a problem for me its the exhaust note that gives me the shits because it just sounds like i'm running around with a cheap cannon when it really is a quality exhaust.

I have read that the quite down after a few hundred miles. Sort of a break in period. Did you also install a test pipe? I do know that this exhaust sounds like a gassy civic with a test pipe.

Yeah it'll quiet down over a few hundred miles but don't think it would be anything significant and the cannon-like tone will probably stay
No test pipes here, Stock header to stock cat to Q300 catback

No it doesn't. Invidia makes a sub par product. I had their test pipe and have heard their other exhausts. I have not liked any of it. Look at tanabe, greddy, or mugen if you want quite but good sound.
