Default 260whp with bolt ons, cams and headwork?!?

So I was doing my normal routine and searching through random videos when I stumbled across this one. I’ve searched through the forums and didn’t see anything on it so…. Anyways this guy claims 260whp, with Bolton’s, cams and headwork. He had the headwork done at 4 piston, which I’ve heard good things from. But the company that makes the cams, I’ve never heard of and visited their site and couldn’t come across any products for s2000?? The cams company is called DDtech, which seems they do muster in other Honda motors. The other thing that doesn’t sit right was he claimed this was on a mustang dyno as well??!?!? I just can’t see him making this power with a stock bottom end

dyno numbers are meaningless in isolation, you need a baseline to compare to.

I believe it... I made 240whp on jeff evans dyno which is spot on with most dynojets. and it was a 90+ degree day... mods and graph HERE

With a nice set of cams and headwork i dont see why i couldnt get another 20+whp... but as s2000ellier said its all about the before and after numbers...

The owner posted that video on here a while ago https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/633...t__p__23932765
Numbers seems very high considering it was done with a 60mm exhaust and a Skunk2 header (I believe these may actually loose power?).

I don't want to sound like a Nay sayer but another 20hp is a lot harder then you think. Yea it's do able but it isn't just a couple bolt ons to get you there. The key is look at the TQ, if the TQ is abnormally high.... it's a high reading dyno.

Edit.... looked up the link That was done at Church's. Everyone knows Churchs reads a bit on the high side. 263whp on Church's is probably low 230's on a dynojet. I know Mini's that make like 190 on a dyno jet will make 220's at Churchs.

Back when I raced T3 I heard stories of guys that made 250whp on T3 legal S2000's. One such car when I came across it pulled me like I was standing still. I was told such things were done with fancy valve jobs and loosely built motors with coatings and such internally.

I believe someone proved on the same day that Church's dyno is 9.1% higher than another well respected dynojet near his shop, same car, within a few hours of each other. So a 263whp reading on Church's would be like 239whp on a dynojet, which is reasonable as someone pointed out earlier on this thread at Evan's.

260whp is possible without ITB's or strokers, it just gets exponentially more expensive to achieve after the 250whp mark.

I have always dynoed at church since hes local to me and how lots of experience espically with hondas. Many years ago i made about 380whp on his dyno and a few weeks later i did a few pull on a local dyno jet and i only make 330whp.

Absolutely nothing against Shawn Church. Top notch guy and very very smart man with everything he does. But I don't think anyone will dispute the dynapack he uses reads quite high and that is nothing negative at all towards him or his company. It's just a observation many have seen.

As I said 9.1% higher than well respected and trusted dynojet in the area nearby on the same day to keep conditions as similar as possible, I believe it was a mazdaspeed 3 that did the test (gotta find that internet thread out there somewhere but I distinctly remember the results). So now you know, if you want to know what your car will do on a well calibrated dynojet, take church's number and multiply it by 0.909.

. Depends what roller jet, bud. In socal there are jets that would read 230-240. My engine is stout and not many s2k's can get above 260 at Church's with the bolt-ons I have.
