My buddy has had a theory that I don't agree with but I'll put it up. He thinks the supertech dual springs were the cause since they have more pressure than stock or even the beehives. I call bologna but it's out of my expertise.

My theory is the cam oil journals weren't perfectly round or the tolerances were greater than stock.
If that théorie is good , the groove should only be in the upper journals ???

My BC stage 2 cams have been great, oil analysis shows good so far and I have a few thousand miles on them plus a track day or two.

My car is a 06 ap2, and it is not my daily but i do drive it often. I would like the car to go for 100k miles with the cams in it if it's possible.
Just because someone is willing to take pre-orders doesn't mean the skunk2 ultra has been released. The quoted 20whp was from CNC's test on an older AP1, don't assume your AP2 will realize 20whp too. But yeah, an intake manifold swap is a hell of a lot safer than cams.

Hopefully the skunk2 intake manifold does release soon...

How much did you make?

I just upgraded my valve train to dual spring supertech setup(although not the extreme pressure just the first level) but ended up staying stock ap2 cams as the reviews are all over the place. Interested to see what people have made with the BC cams, I know in my old build k series, it had a fair amount of wear but I always blamed the aftermarket cams and the fact the cam journal bolts would stretch and the motor spun alot of rpms.

The BC cams make power. I had a 2.2 with a TP and berk header back exhaust. Tuned with Kpro they made 20hp on Church's dyno. That's a solid 13hp on normal reading dynos.

I pulled the cams out of the journal and there was slight wear, nothing like the picture.

Maybe he is on to something with the spring pressure...
