Default ALL MOTOR PROJECT!....when bottle is off c:

Just want to share a few pics of my little project. I'm doing a zex wet 65hp shot. I've been piecing the kit little by little from bidding on ebay to craigslist. To be honest, buying a kit on Craigslist for around $300-350 would of been a better deal instead of piecing one together like I did. I've installed nitrous in 4 other cars including my first s2000 so I know a thing or too about nitrous. I still ask questions on here to always get another opinion, never a bad idea.

The reason I went nitrous is because honestly I got tired of losing to my friends. A e85 tuned brz and 08 sti. I needed something affordable so the wife will agree. She gave me a $600 budget which is just about perfect for what I wanted. Im about 90% complete and all the hard stuff is done. All I need left is a bottle, wire up the bottle warmer and buy a nitrous gauge. Here's my parts I bought, where I bought them, and price I paid.

-zex "black out" wet kit. No bottle, not bracket, not the jets I needed. Used.($220 on ebay)
-nos 300 watt bottle heater. Used. ($20 on craigs)
-1/8 npt -4an fitting for fuel rail. New. ($10? from jegs)
-autometer dual gauge pod for s2000. New. ($170ish on jegs)
-zex jet kit w/ 55hp,65hp,75hp. New. ($2 5ish on jegs)

So far I spent about $445 with my $600 budget. I already have a aem wideband and planning on grabbing a glowshift nitrous gauge for $100. I know they are cheap but I liked how they go black when the car is off to keep unwanted attention away. So when installing my zex box and lines, I tired my best to hide everything with loom. From every angle you stand at you won't see my zex box unless you look very hard for it. To hide my zex box, I cut a square under my oem box where the extra chamber is. Then I drilled 4 tiny holes to mount the zex box securely. If you guys ever notice, theres a hole that leads perfectly to the filter and thas where I tapped my nozzle. I will put the oem lid back on so no one will see. I'm gonna love to say "yea, im stock. Still got my oem intake box". So enough talking. Here's a few pics and more to come. Sorry for the wires everywhere. They will be hidden very soon.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the 300+ horsepower. Any reason why you didn't go with a 100 shot? I don't know very much about nitrous but my buddy wants to do a 100 shot on his ap1 lol

If I went 100shot, I would by more safety things like a fuel pump, window switch, colder plugs, etc. I know that might be overkill safety for 100 shot but at least I know I'll be somewhat safer. I'm doing 65 and will eventually move up.

Update:

Everything works and runs good. Just need to clean up the wiring a bit and put the switches somewhere hidden and easily accessible.

Updated pricing:

-zex "black out" wet kit. No bottle, not bracket, not the jets I needed. Used.($220 on ebay)
-nos 300 watt bottle heater. Used. ($20 on craigs)
-1/8 npt -4an fitting for fuel rail. New. ($10? from jegs)
-autometer dual gauge pod for s2000. New. ($170ish on jegs)
-zex jet kit w/ 55hp,65hp,75hp. New. ($2 5ish on jegs)

-zex bottle with gauge. Used. ($102 winning bid on ebay)
-zex bottle opener. Used. ($50 on Craigslist)
-×2 -3an fittings to fit the oem box easier. New ($25 on ebay)
-glowshift nitrous gauge. New. ($100 ebay)

Total $722ish. Over $100 over my budget but it's nice to have a bottle opener and some fittings which were not 100% needed to run nitrous but nice to have.

Thanks for response. I used to be turbo and at 340hp.....it was almost perfect. But it was soooo damn expensive. To get close to that at like 1/4 start up costs is very appealing. I used to disregard nitrous as you couldn't use it all the time. But hell now I think and you can't get in full boost all the time either. Traffic alone makes that impossible.

hi, you used a fitting on the fuel rail? I have a a full zex kit but havent installed it yet. Most people I saw, cut the fuel line and used a T-tap. Mighty Mods drilled and tapped the fuel rail. Not sure if I'm comfortable drilling into the fuel rail. Did you have to do that? or did your 1/8 npt -4an fitting mount into an existing location? thanks in advance

I had to drill a 1/8 npt in the fuel rail. The reason I did that was because I didn't want to cut my rubber fuel line. My last s2000, I did that and the car wouldn't start. Maybe I cut the wrong line but I didn't want to go through with it again. Let's say u do cut the rubber hose, one day if u want to sell the car or nitrous kit, u will need to buy something to connect the 2 rubber lines again. If it leaks u won't see it since its under the intake manifold. I like the fuel rail because it's easier to get to and see leaks. A good tip tho, use a drill press. Make sure its clamped down before u drill the hole.

Long story short, drilling is not needed but I recommend it
