The header will change the exhaust sound. the material will resonate at a higher pitch which will make it sound louder.

If your going to spend that much on a header buy Hytechs long tube and start saving for tuning then your talking real gains.

v2 intake, decent exhaust, long tube header and ems tuning should see at least 30+whp. That's based on the 7 or 8 cars that I've seen personally tuned. I recently saw one 215 stock with mugen intake, js header and custom exhaust switch out to aem v2 tuned with ems jump to 242 and for sure hytech's long tube header would have made more power.

I've seen a custom header on a built na motor do 22whp over the stock manifold with tuning and yes I pleaded to buy the header but 3300 is out of my range at the moment, lol

that's a lot of money spent to get 30+whp. i got that much with an ebay snorkel 70mm tp and exhaust with a tune but that was in the midrange... given that, i'm willing to bet it was MOSTLY in the tuning department that got those figures. sorry but, i'm not gonna fork out $1600+ for just a header and gain 10whp (maybe). and like i said, that's with a tune.

don't get me wrong here, i'm not trying to down anyone who wants to buy a bunch of expensive bolt-ons. just like you, i've done my research too. that's why i'm not satisfied with n/a bolt-ons anymore. too damn expensive for such little gains to be made.

Why spend all of that money for a Mugen, when you can get a Hytech?

If you stick with a "brand theme", you'll always be leaving power on the table. If you are really interested in performance, get the best products in each category.

There are a few good manifolds for the s2000, mugen is definitely not the best. From what I've read it add's power but can be bettered by other manifolds, it is good quality though.

My tracysports ts-02 definitely added power n/a wise, so much so that i kept it for my SC setup.

IMO brands you should look at, tracysports, hytech, J's, toda etc - they will probably be cheaper than a mugen too.

FWIW:

My mates car 'on the same dyno' (roughly same temp/conditions)
MY00, CTSC+AC 7psi, CT map clamp box, stock manifold, decat = 320BHP, 202 ft/lb

Mine
MY00, CTSC+AC 7psi, greddy emanage, 5zigen singlepipe exhaust, berks HFC, Tracysports manifold, catch can = 369BHP, 240 lb/ft
