Default My future S2k setup

Hello S2k maniacs!

I would like to have some thoughts in the mods that I've been thinking to do in my bone stock S2000 MY05 F20C2.

The list to shop:

-Skunk2 Throttle Body 70mm (the B series work with the F20c series?) with ported manifold
-Custom made 4" CAI
-Custom made full exhaust 3" with Vibrant mufflers
-Tegiwa header
-ECU: Doctronic ProECU-F (?) (this is still in development and will be basically the ProECU-K but for the S2k. The distributor and tuner from my country will sell it under 1200€ with tune by him. I think it worth it because here the price for a good tune is ~400€, and if I put other ~1300€ to buy a K-Pro, Haltech or AEM, I prefer jump into Apexi Neo.)
-FD 4.62 (already have the pinion and ring, just need to install. To be honest, I have a little afraid if someone do some chit and kills my differential. There are any secret for this application? Or I can let my mechanic install without all this worry and wasted time?)
-Yellow Speed Racing Coilovers (saw it in Tegiwa site, are anyone running those that could give some feedback?)
-Bars, all of them
-Brakes braided lines and nice pads
-Flywheel (Fidanza or a RPC does the job?) and Stage 1 clutch kit
-Skunk2 Alpha Series Radiator for EG (can this cool a S2k? Or are any other half-size radiator for us?)

What would you exchange or do better?

Sorry for my bad english, really.

1) what are you going to be using your car for? track use? drag? etc?

The list to shop:

-Skunk2 Throttle Body 70mm (the B series work with the F20c series?) with ported manifold

Why not try this instead?

-Custom made 4" CAI

Any well designed intake will be more than enough.

-Custom made full exhaust 3" with Vibrant mufflers

Any well designed exhaust will be more than enough.

-Tegiwa header

I'm unsure of this header, but have you looked into companies like TODA, or HYTECH? or even ASM or J's Racing? If you are trying to get max power from a NA configuration, I would not cheap out in this department.

This is also another area I would highly advise against cheaping out to save a couple of dollars or euros. The computer and how well your engine is tuned will dictate the amount of power it makes and how long / or safe it will run. I would look into AEM infinity or other full standalones. Also it depends on your goal for your car.

-FD 4.62 (already have the pinion and ring, just need to install. To be honest, I have a little afraid if someone do some chit and kills my differential. There are any secret for this application? Or I can let my mechanic install without all this worry and wasted time?)

Do you have the USDM Ap2 gearing in your car? I would advise against the 4.62 FD because if it is NOT installed properly it will WHINE and make noise.

I would look into the ATS Mission Final drive for the s2000. It will do the same job you are looking for without playing with the Diff.

-Yellow Speed Racing Coilovers (saw it in Tegiwa site, are anyone running those that could give some feedback?)

I highly recommend you learn the car in its stock form before you go playing with the suspension. The stock suspension is very capable out of the box. I am unsure of the quality of the coilovers you are suggesting. if you want your car lower you can look for SWIFT SPEC R springs. i would also play with tire sizes before suspension to see if you can accomplish what you are looking for handling wise i.e. staggard vs square setup. And last but not least make sure you have a GOOD alignment, it is a night and day difference with this car.

-Bars, all of them

do you know what sway bars do to the handling bias of your car? i vote you learn the car in the stock form before you can honestly say if you want a larger bar in the front vs the rear or both.

-Brakes braided lines and nice pads

this is a nice preventative measure that i have also been meaning to do for my own car.

-Flywheel (Fidanza or a RPC does the job?) and Stage 1 clutch kit

-Skunk2 Alpha Series Radiator for EG (can this cool a S2k? Or are any other half-size radiator for us?)

i think the half core will work but why would you bother? i would stay with a full size radiator to be on the safe side of things if you are going to be driving the car hard. Koyo, and Mishimoto are good proven brands people like

-Skunk2 Throttle Body 70mm (the B series work with the F20c series?) with ported manifold

Ive heard of these sticking. I got the Omni Power one on mine with a ported manifold and it works great.

-Custom made 4" CAI

might be hard to fit. I have a 3.5' and it picked up tons of power.

-Custom made full exhaust 3" with Vibrant mufflers

May be pretty loud. If you want something off the shelf thats good, look into the Berk of HKS

-Tegiwa header

Know nothing of it.

Know nothing of it but if your tuner knows how to use it thats what really matters.

Know nothing of it. Not sure your price range or how much these are. If they are about $2k look into the Ohlins DFV instead.

-Bars, all of them

Assuming sway bars? Only do the front. the rear will just make the car too loose.

-Brakes braided lines and nice pads
-Flywheel (Fidanza or a RPC does the job?) and Stage 1 clutch kit
-Skunk2 Alpha Series Radiator for EG (can this cool a S2k? Or are any other half-size radiator for us?)

These motors run hot. Do not put a smaller Rad in there. Stock is fine for 99% of the people

I feel the easiest and best thing to do would be for the OP to browse the site a little more, and decide what his car will primarily be used for. I'd also suggest being active in your S2k community, because then he could get first hand feedback from members with similar mods in his area.

Tegiwa headers are a dead copy of the Js racing header for those who don't know / across the pond.

They're a big retailer of aftermarket parts here in the UK.

The easiest thing for him to do is to continue to not log in since January.
