Default Supertech or stock?

Head is going to the machine shop tomorrow, what would you do? Let Me give a quick rundown of my exact dilemma. I am dropping a brand new from Honda 2.2 shortblock that I have been hoarding for about 3 years now into my Ap1. I about 4 years ago had installed supertech valves(nitride exhaust),,springs, titanium retainers and seals onto the head and it's just been sitting and never installed onto the block. Going to run ARP headstuds. I've recently been hearing from numerous sources that people are having issues with the supertech stuff, dropping valves etc. so today I ordered and overnighted from honda the equivalent factory parts to have installed including the upgraded AP2 retainers. What would you do? Staying all motor for now and may supercharge later on. I'm going to fab a custom long tube intake like many before had done with great results, I have a Walbro 255, I.d1000's, and Kpro, I've had all these parts from my previous turbo build that I never finished so I might as well utilize them now. Going to run stock header and a 3 inch exhaust( yet to be determined) possibly the HKS. I want the full gernby/urge exhaust, just way over my budget right now.(3 children have me on a budget lol) Would you keep stock valvetrain like I'm doing or keep supertech? I just don't want to blow up my brand new 2.2L block especially since they are slowly becoming unavailable new from Honda. Let me know how you guys feel about this. Thanks everyone!!!!

The factory F22 valvetrain is really strong and reliable. The only reason to move away from that, is because you have to for the sake of supporting a higher lift cam profile with extended rpm. You aren't doing that, so keep the benefit of OEM, which is reliability and longevity N/A or boosted. Again, the only reason to move away from oem is if your building a head with higher then stock/9k rpm limits with more aggressive cams that need dual valve springs and the supporting retainers/keepers.

Was in the same boat as you when I did my rebuild, was dead set on some ferrodo or supertech, but after seeing some builds with them, I quickly learned that nothing beats the reliability of OEM. I take too many extended road trips to risk being stranded in the middle of nowhere so I went with pure OEM, with a little WPC treatment here and there.
