Ricers to racers (not all ricers) was exactly the case last year in our area. Many came together to get the local car scene involved in auto-x and membership has exploded. There's around 20 more cars per event than in previous years in my region! That may not be impressive for some but in the Snake River region it has made quite an impact.

We hold a novice, rookie school and 2 test and tunes each year in Stratford, CT. (See website for details)
Also checking in with New England Region SCCA (www.ner.org) in Devens, MA which I frequent w/ IMP. I learned a lot last year running an autox almost every single weekend for 4 months straight. Feel free to PM me for any questions. I will also gladly kick your ass in a gokart and then help you go faster at www.ontrackkarting.com in Wallingford, CT.
Another local club is www.cartct.com. They run tight, low speed events in the Hartford area.

Cool thread idea!
Winnipeg, Manitoba area: www.wscc.mb.ca for the Winnipeg Sports Car Club. Lots of activity, from road racing to autocross, plus ice racing in the winter. Also holding an autocross at the old Rivers airport this year sometime, should be a huge expanse of concrete and not that far from Brandon, MB.
We are holding two autocross schools this year and have a very active rookie program to help you try out autocross without feeling lost. We also have a high-performance school on the track in Gimli with open laps on the race track. I believe S2000s don't need an aftermarket rollbar for the school, but do for any other lapping you may want to do.
I'm always willing to take people for rides at autocross for my first two runs. Look for the bald guy in the red S2000, or just ask for Corey.
