I actually just cut my fenders in half to do something pretty similar. Great minds think a like.

2017 Livery
Would love it if a photoshop pro could mask the dip still left on the tires

Thoughts on the Hankook Slicks vs an A7. I've been told that and I quote Bob Woodman, Based on weight and overall circumference for cooling the surface of the tire "NOTHING" will beat an A7 on a lighter car with a tall circumference. He said on a shorter Circumference and heavier car an R7 is the next best thing and MAYBE .... (he said maybe twice) a Michelin Blue can get close. I asked him about the Hankook slicks and he didn't have much info for me but told me the Hoosier Radial slick is an after thought and no where in the ball park of the R7..... Yet the car he was driving had Hoosier Radial slicks on it (probably the same closeout ones I bought). But then I told him my car was ~2500 lbs and he said .... Oh heavy car then. I went into that convo expecting to pick up a set of Hankook slicks or Michelin Blues... I walked out thinking R7's.

If its any help, Im running R7s (well 2x R6 (closeout deal) and 2x R7) and very content with them. Limited to a 17x8 for now and running a 225/40/17 (same thing as a 245 honestly) and I am very pleased. 255s R7 or more would be a delight. Car seems very predictable even when breaking away and loads of grip at turn in. Car is about 2500 lbs with basic suspension stuff and a good alignment.

I kind of hated the R7's when I tested on them....but it's not an ST car for now and my car is heavish compared to the s2k's.
