Question for robrob
Rob,
How did you remove the sound deadening material from over the wheel wells? The dry ice and alcohol worked well for me every place but there. Truth be told, I still havent done the DS and PS floorboards but I'm not expecting a problem there.
Thanks.
This picture is pretty much exactly where I'm at with my Winter project of HD roll bar, PCI seat mounts, Sparco buckets, harnesses and a QR steering wheel.

Mine was all messed up from the other bolt in bar I had. Plus I'd like to clean up everything behind the seats and get things looking a little more uniform.
The stuff on the wheel wells is more tar like.

Great video! So the wheel well is only 10lbs worth of tar? Or 10lbs for inside sound deadening? Sorry I wasn't sure but 20lbs for the car in the video is a lot !

I'm saying maybe 15 lbs for the floor boards, the spare tire area, the trunk tool well area AND the spots over the wheel wells. Lots of work for very little weight savings. Again, I'm doing it more for looks and uniformity than anything.

I used a brass wire cup on the end of a drill for one wheel well, what a fukn mess. The other side I used a wide flat head screwdriver, took about the same time but needed some gas and a 3M scuff pad to get it off completely.
Working up to the trans / driveshaft tunnel now. Peeled off the metal foil and used Stoners Tarminator for the residue.
