I made a mountain of crushed/powdered dry ice with rubbing alcohol over my wheel wells. I held some cardboard against it to keep it place. My local Praxair sold scrap slabs of dry ice for 39 cents a pound, IIRC i bought a total of 60lbs over the coarse of 2 days and it made everything come off in big chunks

I used 10 lbs and got the trunk, gas tank/spare area, and floor boards in one evening. I have no idea what I would have done with 60 lbs that that shit.

For me, I'm just not there yet. I still have my A/C. I still have this wild idea that someday, it might once again see the street.

Besides, W2W gets even more expensive than HPDE. I think a bar is just a natural progression from where I was. (Safety 21)

PCI seat mounts, Sparco harnesses, Sparco wheel and HANS scheduled arrive today. Better than Christmas.

Wow, that's some dedication to scrape all that crap out! I've done it on an old car of mine and helped friends do it years ago.. It's just a very tedious/unpleasant process. How much weight did you save? I'm not sure I could do all that work again..

The big stuff comes out with dry ice pretty easily. The trans tunnel tar-backed foil was slow and tedious. The stuff over the wheel wells wasn't fun.

Weight savings was maybe 15 pounds. I did it more for aesthetics than anything. Is it odd that I want to try keep a good looking track / HPDE car?

It's Winter here in PA, gotta keep myself busy. The fun part is just starting, PCI seat mounts have arrived, Hard Dog is installed, harnesses have arrived, steering wheel came in. HANS device arrived too. Need to get hardware for the helmet installed.
