Not true at all. You will definitely get more benefit from a full flat bottom but a well designed diffuser only will still help limit rear lift. Most rear wings only cancel out the rear lift generated by the S2000. A diffuser + a rear wing could actually help net positive downforce. Voltex has wind tunnel data to show this.

Don't get me wrong, a flat bottom floor will absolutely make the diffuser more effective, but saying it will do nothing without it is foolish.

The OP said the Voltex was out of his league in terms of $ and mentioned some cheaper ones, presumably like the one posted by Chuck S. I refuse to believe that type of diffuser works, unless I see some data. It's way short and narrow and doesn't even protrude past the bumper to help move the air behind the car, which is the only benefit unless you have a super low car and a flat bottom for downforce.

I think that the bottom line is that you would not see any difference in performance unless your driving skills were honed to the point that your track times changed with very small changes in suspension geometry. Would your track times change if you changed your tire pressures by 0.5 PSI?

Anyway something I do not have to worry about!

This is why you don't see any pics of my car ever on this website, which may be a blessing for everyone lol. Frustrating though. I can see the pics posted on my home computer I used to post with, but not on my phone or work computer. I'm not very savvy when it comes to this stuff. Sorry guys, I have no clue what's going on.

It looks like you are pasting from your yahoo email account, so the links only work when you are signed into it. You can use Dropbox if you have it and put the images in your public folder, copy the public link and use it here.
