Hey guys I need some info. I'm looking shorten my gear ratio for my steering rack. Is there a kit for this? I also have heard the ap1 is shorter than ap2 can some one confirm this please.

Info on car : Race car - full gut no street use.

At some local tracks I go full arm lock and then some around some v corners. I want to avoid this by shortening the ratio somehow and then I can finally use a C wheel to give my giant legs more clearance.

Any help is appreciated.

The ap1 rack has a closer ratio, yes. Coupled with my 330mm sparco D wheel, I feel its perfect. Any closer ratio and it would be too sensitive on the big end of the track. There isn't a corner at the ridge that makes me run out of steering angle with two hands on the wheel. If your primary focus is dodging cones in a parking lot well under triple digit speeds, then you may have to do some further research.

WHats ur front tire size? Do you know the gear difference between the two? Big or small difference?

00-05 are interchangeable (not sure on exact parts required):
00-03 ratio 13.8:1
04-05 ratio 14.9:1

06+ are interchangeable (not sure on exact parts required):
06-09 ratio 14.9:1 but different rack vs 04-05 (06+ has vsa sensors/etc)
CR ratio 13.8:1 but different than 00-03 (vsa sensors/etc)


the steering lock-to-lock is 2.4 wheel turns (13.8) to 2.6 (14.9)
