01 S Vs. Wrx
Just got back from getting my plates renewed and came to a stop
on Algonquin Road in Schaumburg. Some 20 something in a WRX
was already waiting at the red light. I pulled up in my lane on
the right of him a few feet back. He must have looked over b/c
as soon as the left turn arrow started he began slightly revving
as if getting ready to take off. I'm not a big streat recer, but in this
case I just wanted to see what's up. I didn't launch, just slipped the
clutch and immediatly got a car on him. His tires chirped as he
shifted to second. I just kept going to 9K shifted and could see him
in my rearview mirror. Probably 3 cars back through second gear.
He quit after that and I kept going. I have and AEM v2 and he sounded
stock.
Next week I get 4.44 gears and VAFC. So, next time it will be and even
bigger advantage. I just don't think stock WRXs are all that fast, this
confirms what I thought.

If you put a car on him out of the hole, then that means he didn't launch. It should've been the other way around.
I lined up next to a stock regular WRX at the track (1/4 mile) when I was bone stock, and I launched the hell out of my car (like 8k) (I know, I know, my diff.) and I had basically no tire spin and he LEAPED out infront of me by atleast a car...I ended up running a high 13 sec. quarter w/a 1.9 60ft and he ran a high 14 sec. run, but had a 1.6 60ft...but this just showed me how they are rocketed out the hole!

1.6 60ft my ass...
Anyway, a boost controlled equipped stock wrx will rape an S2k 0-100. Trust me. After 100 its the S2000 all the way. Forget about stock handling, the S2000 rapes the WRX...

Rightttt...so your saying a otherwise STOCK wrx, except for a boost controller will run high 13's??? Because that's about where an s2000 traps in a 1/4...
The times are there, but the trap speed may still be a little lower than a stock S2K..
It isn't until the turboback and tuning goes on that things become just about even from a roll
