C Dub

My buddy has a 07 gti with an intake and an aftermarket downpipe, and iv'e got just an intake. I have a carbon hood, but that wont make any difference. He's doin the "talk" but I dont see a 2.0t taking the s2k. Any similar encounters or is this a lost cause???

I would have no doubts that you would eat him as long as you know how to drive your car in a straight line.. I didn't see you say your buddy's car is chipped if thats the case it may be a different story, at least a more interesting one. Those cars are heavier, FWD, 200hp vs. 240hp, least performance oriented gearing, and doesn't has VTAKK!! There really shouldn't be a comparison here imo..

You should get him from a dig if you can drive...and even from a roll...if you can drive. An s2k can suprise some cars with a good driver. If you are a bad driver you will lose to some real slow cars lol

you do realize the s2k is a 2.0 or a 2.2 depending on the year right? anyways a friend of mine had a gli with intake, exhaust , and a chip and it was a good race. if he isnt chiped then forget about you will win unless you cant drive.

You should have no problem as long as you don't suck at driving. I've raced my friends intake and chipped GTI and whether it was from a dig or a roll I always won.

Yep you should win. I lost by a bumper to my friends GLI with an upgraded FMIC, chip, boost controller (forgot how much he was pushing though) intake, Audi coil packs, and a 3" dowpipe to a 3" cutout.

I was completely stock then.
