Default '07 Stage 2 STI goes 12.1 on pump.

Vehicle: '07 STI
Mods: intake, header, TBE, Ecutek
WHP/WTQ: 324/358
Boost: 18 peak/16 hold (conservative)
Timeslip: 12.1 @ 113

I posted this for the EVO guys that don't believe the new gearing makes much of a difference. For reference, an '05 with these same mods (and higher boost) will run no better than a 12.5. There's no question that with the boost cranked up a little, the car will run a high-11, and mid-11's on race gas. I'll post the timeslip and a pic of the car as soon as it's available.

whats the new gearing like? taller? so hopefully there's less shifts?

cuz I know the previous STIs in stock form were in 5th gear by the end of the 1/4 mile

It's not just the gearing. There are new heads and a modified turbo in it.

I'm not going to say that the new STI is faster than an EVO, or will beat one mod for mod, but I'll say that the big-turbo advantage that the EVO has always had is gone, so the score is even so to speak.

Yes, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear are taller, allowing the car to reach 115 mph in 4th. Of less importance is the new VF43 turbo, which has a larger wastegate, but produces the same CFM.

my friend with the stage 2 from cobb made 314 awhp and 324 awtq. tubro back exhaust, one step colder plugs, cobb street tuner, mosch wastegate selenoid, and i think some kinda intake.

by "header" you mean the exhaust manidfold, right?

Is the 113 trap a little weak for a 12.1 ET ? SRT-4's that run 12 flat here in Calgary usually trap around 118-120 (at 3500 ASL to boot). I have seen two stock STi's run here in Calgary and neither could crack 14's or 94MPH, dissapointing to say the least.

I assume he is getting a great 60' (not reported?) for a couple of reasons.

That much wheel-HP doesn't make for a 12.1 run without a great launch (ask any 350 RWHP C5 Z06 owner who drags and doesn't hit 12.1). And that 113 trap is very low for a 12.1 run otherwise.

Nice result in the 1/4.
