Default 2003 S2000 vs 2009 (-) Genesis Coupe

I ran into a Red Genesis Coupe on the road the other day. I was just cruising around to see where i was going to shoot some photos of my car and he came up to me and took off on me...

First of all. Its not very common for someone to pull up to me and take off...

Second, I dont get taken off on and not attempt a run...

So we pulled into like a vacant lot and it was like 1/16th of a mile. very short. only got to like 50mph. Then had to stop...

Seeing as this is my second S2k. Just want to make sure that its running right.

We took off from a dead stop of course. He got me on the dead stop. but I'm still not satisfied because i know if we kept going. I could have at least caught up or passed him.

Just making sure. Dead stop. I didnt launch that great. but he was like a good 1 car length in front of me. he couldnt get any farther.

Seem like thats the right?

Thanks guys. hopefully my cars not running too bad.

I'm gonna assume it was the 2.0T? I put 2-3 car lengths on one from a 40-90 roll

Yes sorry. It was a 2.0t I believe.

But my run was from a pull...

I told him i wanna do a roll... but he said he cant afford a ticket...

I wanna run him again. from a roll...

The '09 model 2.0T had the old engine, but you should be keep up even in a dig and especially on a roll with the update.

raced several from a dig & roll, you shouldn't have an issue at all unless you beef'd the launch at a dig. From a roll its a constant pull no issues

at the strip, it depends, on the street Im right around 7k but I use the clutch to limit wheel spin by slowly releasing it. This limits the chance of bogging. Where were your rpms? Did you dump the clutch, bog then go?

To get a great start you do have to start 7+ rpms, which is why I don't try to launch the car.

not always in the winter, I launch around 6.3ish rpms here in Florida's 72 degree weather, it honestly depends on the surface of the road and skill of the driver and tires of course
