7AT G37 Sedan vs Supercharged AP1
So I went cruising for a bruising in the G last night around 12:30am after hitting the gym. As I was coming down Mercy rd towards the 15 south I noticed a familiar pair of tail lights..
To make a long story short, I ran a S/C'd AP1 last night. Lol. It was him and a female passenger. Supercharged for sure, exhaust for sure, custom front fenders for sure, RPF-1's, coilovers, rear diffuser, and a hardtop. That's all I could pick up from a quick glance.
We went once from ~25 to a little over 100(?? I wasn't watching the speedo) and he pulled me by about 2 to 3 cars.
Second run we lined up at 55mph in 2nd gear. Stupid decision on my part, I had to shift to 3rd right away and this 7AT lags like crazy. We started with his S2k about a half car ahead of my G. I didn't realize it until it was too late though. After the 3rd honk he instantly pulled a car length and slowly increased it to a car and a half. Once we got deeper into the triple digits however it seemed that I was slowly, but surely reeling him in. Don't know for sure whether I would've pulled in front of him or not but I was creeping up for sure.
It was a well built, strong running S2K for sure and an awesome couple of runs. Hopefully I'll get the chance to bump into him again and get it on camera.
All in all, I'm proud of my stock pig of a sedan.
Edit: I have to find a way to record these runs.

On most gears and most speeds, it's not even close when I've run any stock G's. This was likely a heavily modified all motor s or maybe had a stage 1 kit at best. Good runs though and a video would have been awesome.... love to hear the revs climb and hear the exhaust and engine on both of these cars!

S2KGreg - I strongly doubt he makes as power as yours does. 375whp would leave me like I was standing still or something. Haha. I'm guessing he had a bolt-on Comptech kit with the base tune that comes with it. Pair that with Intake and Exhaust and he could be making anywhere from 285whp to 320whp. Definitely not a 350whp+ car though.
S2000Maniac - He was supercharged. I asked and he confirmed it by nodding, saying "yes" and then revving for me to hear it. Thing sounded great, the backfires were crazy. Like I said, probably a Comptech kit running on the base tune that comes with it.
Pwrinxs - Thanks man! I'm guessing a "stage 1"/low boost kit as well. I know my S2K's, I had big plans for my AP1 when I had it. Unfortunately my finances weren't in order back then. Regardless I'm working on getting a GoPro or at least finding a decent place to mount my iPhone when I run people.
S2000Maniac - 100whp most of the time.. I've seen anywhere from 65-100whp+ from simply bolting a kit onto a stock or lightly modded S2K. It really depends on that individual car. I'm not saying I beat him, I'm just saying that the race went down a lot different than I expected it to. Also, try 275-280whp for the G.. After bolt-ons and a tune I should be in the ballpark of 310whp or more. Every dyno's different though, we'll see how the car progresses when I start to throw parts on and eventually tune it.
