2008 TL Type-S has a 3.5L SOHC V-6 equipped with Honda's VTEC variable valve timing system. The V-6 has an output of 286 hp and 256 lb-ft, Front wheel drive.

2009 TL SH-AWD 3.7-liter V-6 SH-AWD, based, VTEC variable timing on the intake and exhaust valves (a first for a SOHC engine) that kicks out 305 horsepower at 6300 rpm and 275 pound-feet of torque at 5000.

Money on the new tl-sh-awd with 305 hp.
eh, maybe if it was the 09 FROM A DIG. (or really really high mph roll)
i`d still put my $$ on the s2000 from a roll.

Quick crank hp to weight, based on tossed around numbers:

TLS 305/3500 = .087
S2K 240/2850 = .084

RWD also loses more hp when going to the wheels. A clear advantage goes to the TL-S.

Also, at higher speeds, power-to-drag is more important than power-to-weight, as overcoming inertia becomes less important than overcoming drag force.

I raced one of those Tl type S new one. I did it from a roll and pulled on him all the way. He got pissed and tried driving me off the road afterwords.

Mods at the time mugen header mugen exhaust.

Why do people list n/a bolt-on mods for this car? Unless you did ITB's or have tuning, you don't have any more horsepower.

OK to get your facts right. Yes they do make power. I ran it on a dyno stock 203 at the wheels and with Mugen intake mugen exhaust and mugen header. and it made 6 more to the wheels. 209whp
So think before you bash.

I dont think you going to spend almost 4 grand and not make power.

you made 6 horsepower?

That is really not gaining any horsepower still.

Want to know gaining horsepower from bolt-ons? In a 4 cylinder anyways...

i went from 180 hp stock to 205 at the wheels in my civic si with bolt-ons.

my facts are still right. I'm glad you made 6 more horsepower, but that's not really gaining horsepower from bolt-ons.

ask others, 1-5 horsepower seems to be pretty normal, sometimes even losing horsepower.

I'm not really being mean or anything, it's just a fact, they don't gain with bolt-ons without tuning.

The new type s AWD packs 305hp, I just got my wife one and it pulls like a MF on the S

She has also schooled a 05 g35 and an unknown year 350z and an 06 Mustang GT... The damn thing impresses.
But they run low 15 second quarter miles?

Look up motortrend or caranddrive, the new TL SHAWD runs low 15's. No way in hell would they pull on a S2k.
