Im a fellow cobalt owner looking to get into the s2k scene. almost all ss owners are cocky and think their cars are the fastest thing around. I have a 2005 base model cobalt and rolled up to a local cobalt meet and they laughed at me...little did they know its fully built and i run 11.4's
Cool....tell us more about yourself....

the cobalt community is an interesting ones. if they didnt have such shitty transmissions i probably would have held onto mine. the turbo ones are no joke with a good driver. for reference a stage 2 blower car is about the same on the highway as a stock turbo one. my turbo swapped blower car was quite a bit quicker though lol

zz performance is garbage. Kid up the street with the SS had a header by them and thing looks shittier than the stock one. Shorty header.

As someone who has owned 2 S2000s and now a Cobalt SS/TC, I must say that the SS definitely feels quicker in a straightline. Its brakes are phenomenal, though I purchased mine used and will need to replace the brakes soon.
I am going to write a review of the two cars in a day or so to make a comparison of the two cars for anyone who is interested.

FWIW, I prefer the S2000 CR over the 'Balt. The Cobalt just looks like an econobox with a body kit on it. The S2K looks exotic, imho. Looks aside, the SS is a phenomenal car, but I wish it wasn't wrong wheel drive.

umm im 18 i built the car as a senior project in high school. Im from pittsburgh and work a lot with cars. I have also built a 1968 firebird 400 with my dad so i know bodywork and all sorts of stuff. The cobalt is just a plain old base model with aftermarket tail lights and black enkei edr9 rims. Everyone is amazed when they go for a ride in the car...like hatrickstu said the transmissions are a very weak point and there isnt much aftermarket for them but mine is hlding for now suprisingly. Motor is completely forged and sleeved, all headwork and valvetrain was done..turbo grind cams...and the turbo kit is from zz performance with a s259 extended tip im running 25 psi currently. Im tired of the front wheel drive already and with no tranny aftermarket i have to launch the car like a grandma at the track and i could have much better times with a new tranny.

Im looking to get an s2k soon, i really like the cars and the fact tht they are rwd makes me much happier I would slowly do another turbo build on the s2k to get up around 550-600 hp

and wats up hatrickstu i remember u from the nice colorful burnout on css haha
thattts me
