Default MY06 vs EVO IX MR

So... I was just cruising around saturday night just trying to pass the time and this MR with pitch black tints and a new Audi A4 3.0 pass me at like 100 while they're fooling around... so I figured... Ahhhh... why not? So I finally give chase to catch up figuring that if there were cops around, he would pull after them first. So I catch up... we merge onto another high way and it's a good 1.5 straight stretch right after the merge... MR 1st, A4 2nd, and me tailing the A4 in last.

Highway opens up with no traffic (MR peaced out on the on ramp but the Audi couldn't keep up and I was stuck behine him) and I blast right past the Audi with no problem just to find that I can't even see the MR anymore. So I keep chasing and I find him and he starts merging to another highway... just me and the MR. We start fooling around and finally line up with me on the left and him on the right from a 75 roll... he beeps and we're off... I hold him through 4th and 5th he just blasts past me.

So I yell over to go from 60 and notice it's a dude and his girl... so I beep this time and put a 1/2 car on him right away, holding him thru 3rd and 4th and he blasts past me again in 5th. So I'm kind of exciting cause it was obvious he was modded so I'm feeling pretty good. We catch a red light with me now on the right and I roll my window to chat... he pulls slightly ahead and the BACK-RIGHT window opens and I'm like... WTF?!?!?!?... yeah... there were 4 people in the car... LOL. I couldn't stop laughing and saying how crazy his car is. He was like... you held up pretty good but we got 4 people and I was like... seriously man... I though I was doing good... lol. They were mad cool people and they said nice race and went their merry way.

Our 5th gear really isn't that great... hard pull in 3rd and 4th but our 5th... it's a no no. Those beastly MR's... amazing!!!!

surprising. I would think he would have edged you down low, but you could have pulled up top (speed that is).

No... not at all. I would think so too but our S's seem not to like the top speed too much. Same thing happens with my co-worker's STI... he's putting down like 300 whp and I can hold him thru 3rd and 4th but once I get near 5th... he just pulls and keeps pulling hard.

This is the reason why I for one is giving that Evo X a VERY serious thought if the next gen. Honda S2000 does not bring it 100%.

And this is coming from someone who dislikes the current Evo but still have a great deal of respect for their abilities.

yes but evos and STIs don't like it even more. above 100mph you should be able to edge them out. they are bricks with poor gearing for high speed.

My guess is he was not stock? If he was and did have all those passengers then he would not have lown by you. I've ran a evo9 mr myself many times and won every round by atleast a car and a half. I did have a few mods but still.
