Panic at 180MPH
Preface: Not in an s2k. This was in my MB CLS63 AMG. Also, this is long-
The weather has been a bit of a roller coaster here and a Bahamas-like 44' and sunny day got me in to a bit of trouble.. I have not been able to drive my car very hard because of the weather. Since the tune, I have not really had any chances to get a good feel for it.
My commute rewarded me with a flat stretch of clear road as far as the eye could see. I was stopped at a light and decided to give her a good triple digit run and here's how it went:
Transmission in S/1st gear, Suspension C, ESP (traction control) off:
Brake torqued to about 1200rpm, light turned green and I feathered on the throttle nailing an almost perfect launch. Full-throttle at about 25-30mph gave me some spinning but I was deep into it. Next time I looked at the speedo was a hair under 100 and it was smooth and quiet. I kept in it and at 140 I was liking the way it felt so I stayed in it. Around 145-150 or so I noticed the drag was starting to take effect but it was still pulling.
I was locked in on the road with both hands gripping the steering wheel harder than they needed. I looked down again to see the needle right under 180 and then sheer panic set in. I heard the worst high-pitched squeal coming from my driver's side wheel. I felt the adrenaline wash into the pit of stomach as I contemplated what to do/what the noise was. A split second felt like an eternity. I slowly let off the accelerator and the noise subsided as the drag slowed the car down. At about 100, I got on the brakes heavy and pulled over.
The source of the noise was nothing major yet nothing expected- my side marker actually blew out yanking the bulb wires with it. I was relieved yet still shaking. Lesson learned- the wind at 180 will remove anything that is not secure.

^ word, be careful. Oh and I would probably react the same way, I got my s2k up like 90mph on the onramp and had the rear twitch, I thought I was a goner, thanks to s2ki instead of lifting I just slightly released gas but kept it in and gave slight opposite lock, which saved me from spinning.
(tire place filled one tire 42 psi and the other 38) go figure...

Sweet story but still be careful, where was this at again?
Be careful bro glad it was just the side marker that blew out and not your tire

had something similar happen to me...i was in a friends Turbo 7th gen GTS celica and we were almost at 160mph when the inner fender liner blew out into the tire...it was a horrible noise and he said it gave the steering wheel a slight jerk...we though one of his brand new rt-615's blew...but when we pulled over all we found was a partially melted fender liner wedged against the front tire...

Similiar experience but no crazy noises or twitchy rear ends.
Just got done with a quick 120mph run, about a minute later I was cruising along at 60 or so and an unmarked cop comes flying down the road behind me. Crappy feeling at first.....until he just kept driving past.
