Ok,
Thursday night, Ronica (my fiance) and I are going back to her place. She's in the S2K and I'm my Prelude. We both pull up to a REALLY clean and aggesive looking Fiero. I can't put my finger on it, but he's done something to it besides lowering it and putting on some 18's.
We are sitting three wide with the older, balding white haired driver in the Fiero sitting between us. Ronica gets smart and starts blipping the throttle with the HKS exhaust note. The Fiero follows suit, and not wanting to give it to her on her first street race, I let loose on the gas too. The light turns green we all get a great reaction...in fact, I may have jumped a little early, but Ronica and the Fiero are nose to nose for like the first two seconds. For what I thought I had on the torque curve vs. the other two, I thought I could pull away at least two or three cars before either of them caught me if the Fiero would catch me at all that is).
Wouldn't you know it, the Fiero came blasting out of the gate (once he got into his power band), and pulled away at least thirty car lenghts before hitting the next light (about a mile and a half away). Ronica pulled on me once getting into VTEC at every gear, but when she was out of VTEC, I start gaining some of what I lost. At the next light, I chatted with the Fiero owner...very cool guy BTW. I didn't hear either the whine of a SC, or the spool of a turbo....so mentioned to me that he shoehorned a Vette engine into the little Fiero.
I've never been into Fieros but this one just stood out from all the ones I've seen. It was CLEAN, and the engine performed flawlesslesy. I got a chance to gander at it at the next parking lot we saw.....man talk about tidy and tight. I wish I had my camera with me...I will invite him to the next S2K function we have here in IL so he can share his automotive enthusiam with us.

I think we have enough enthusiam among S2000 owners than to invite one of the worst GM cars ever produced to a local meet!
It's a Fiero, I don't care if he put a F1 motor in it, it's a Fiero!
Ronica - you should never fall out of VTEC when racing.

A Northstar V8!!!! That engine is half the size of the car!!!! Where the heck did they mount the engine?
The vette V8 was stuffed incredibly tight into the bay....he also had some sort of notchback to a fast back conversion...I just pretended to know what he meant. Anyone explain, thanx.

A local guy who recently traded his S2000 in on a twin turbo NSX also has a Fiero GT with a Caddy Northstar V8 engine and tranny. My mechanic did the swap and it took him forever to put that monster motor in that tiny car. What I never understood was why would you take one of the biggest jokes of a sports car ever and dump money into it.

Yep, you never know, try going against a Monster Miata, The Ford Mustang V8 5.0 before going to the 4.6L Mustang engine. That sucker was pulling 3.3 or less 0-60 times. WOW!
