you think with the 4.77's it should be close ? my little bro has 120000 miles on his 300zx tt. it just had a fuel line that rotted replaced and the alternator belt just snaped and just got replaced. my s2k on the other hand has 39k miles and is in perfect working order lol.

If you hooked, I say you were well on your way to rapping him. You have the horsepower he has at the crank to your wheels, plus you're lighter, in a much more aggressively geared car.

Had you spun however, a stock S2000 might be able to beat you to 60mph.

How'd it go?
4 car lengths to 60mph. Smoked him good.

Depends on your tires/ gearing/ powercurve and what rpm your vtec ingages.

If I launch at 6.5 I willl just sit there and spin. 4500-5000 suits my car better.

How close in performance is a stock 2008 CR to my old Z-28?

It was a 1985 5.0 with that troublesome Bosch platinum wire air flow mass sensor. Presume it is working properly on track day. I had installed harder bushings, better shocks, better tires (on stock rims), and I remember something about a changed thermostat, and I removed the rear seats and seatback. Otherwise both cars are stock.

Feels to me the CR might be a bit quicker to turn, a bit slower to accelerate, but not that much either way. A driver's race over most any road, a tight track would go to the S for sure. What do you think?

Assuming you are talking about the 1985 Camaro IROC Z28, stock vs. stock the S2k will win in any type of race against it. Yes, even on the

A buddy with an AP1 got to run against a PERFECTLY restored IROC-Z with bolt-ons. The s2k walked from the start of the 25mph roll and never looked back.

Not an IROC, but a neighbor use to have a 1994 Z28 6 speed with an LT1 motor and a handful of breather bolt-ons, msd ignition and wires. Car had low miles, and ran pretty good.

When my AP1 had I/E/VAFC and a clutch kit, we had a couple pretty good runs on the highway. From a 60-130 we would be even. But from a 30mph 1st gear roll, I would put about a car on him and keep it that way.
