Default Sc S Vs Mach1

I was rewiring my ECU with a new VTEC wiring harness.
So finally done I take my car out for a spin. I pull up to the light and a Mach1 pulls next to me. However there are cars in front of both of us. My lane clears so I step on a bit, now he switches lanes and is now up my ass. so I still had quite a bit of 3rd left so I dropped it down and off I was. Surprisingly enough the Mach1 was about only a 1/2 car length behind and kept that same distance to triple digits. But he didnt switch over to his lane which was clear so I guess though that he didnt have the power to pass me and didnt wanna try it?...

In the past I have raced 3 Mach1 from a dead stop and about 30, 50,90 mile rolls and I have easily lost them which has me wondering now. The mach1 sounded so bone stock, my car was louder than his.

I had my top down and I had just reset the ECU.

Either I didnt know having the top down on this car has that much drag, or resetting the ECU had some effect (I did do the ECU learn procedure), or this guy had internal engine work done to it minus exhaust...

Mach 1's are low 13 second cars -- even high 12 second cars in the right hands. You are not going to beat them without some manner of forced induction.

Nice kill... you should be able to pull away, considering your S/C.

Like Steve said, high 12's low 13's... they hook up nice from a dig, that's owners have said.

1- he was behing you so he it was to his advantage
2- you had your top down, which has a big effect 90mph+
3- your car may take time getting used to the new settings,
with out those i think you should have taken him no probs

man i must have missed something. there is so much misinfo on this site it scares me to death. i have an 04 with a V2 and thats it. the 3 mach 1s i have raced (from a roll on freeway intentionally) if they jump, we are dead even. if i jump, i pull slowly to about 1-2 cars in front of them by 130. im sorry, if i SC my car, i will blow a mach 1 by bus lengths. today for instance, my buddy has an 00 GT. particularly strong. i have done all the mods to it and have built all his previous cars, yes he can drive.
his mods are: cold air,steeda pulleys,bassani X pipe, flowmaster catback, and stage two clutch. his car hauls ass. and ive watched him waste mach 1s from a light many times. when we roll on, whoever gets the jump, is the man, i jumped him other nite, with my film homie filmin, and pulled him 3 cars by 100. then he jumped me, and pulled me about 1 and a half..
so to all those who worship LS1,s and mach 1s. sorry dudes. they arent god.

yeah u should post that on www.ls1.com
BTW, GT with bolt on can't beat Mach 1 unless the driver is really bad.
