Default Should I race this guy?

My buddy owns an orange stock turbo SRT-4, loud as hell too! My mods are in my sig. Do I have a chance of beating him from a dig and roll or one or the other? He didnt do any upgrades as far as turbo stages go or downpipes from what he says. He wants to race for $50

If he is racing for money, I will bet he has modded some of the parts he's claiming are stock.

$ too me means he has beat an S before and is pretty sure of himself or he has a gambling problem (which I doubt)

Low end he will get you (those cars are light) there gearing up top is not that good and thats where you will have the advantage.

I raced a modded SRT from about 70mph to 130 (I had about three cars at the end) he took off first and had about a car when I downshifted to 4rth and punched it he continued to pull, (I thought I was gonna get smoked) then quick shift to 5th... his pull slows.... I match his speed... I start to gain.... shift into 6th and shut down with a 2-3 car lead

See if he will run for free, but if you win leave it at that he may throw in the towel too get your $.

Either way good luck and be safe!

Most of your mods are useless in the performance department, and some even hurt the performance. I wouldn't race it for money, but for fun. Those turbo cars respond very well to mods, including the "invisible" mods.

Don't race him for money..wheres the sport in that...But I think your best chance is from a 1st gear roll...Like 20-25 mph! They have horrible traction problems in 1st and when shifting into 2nd..You might beable to get a little advantage.

I had a low 14 second Celica GTS with a quaife LSD and wanked one off the line, obviously he spanked me after that.
