Shredded an E46 M3
This past Friday nite I was on my way to the local import showoff night in Ft Laudy-dawdy when I encountered a black E46 M3 on the freeway. He was coming onto the freeway from the exit ramp just ahead of me. I figured he saw me b/c just as I'm coming up to his left side from 2-3 cars back, he guns it. I smile, drop down to 4th, and it's on.
I start reeling him in from jumpstreet, and pass him at @ 100 mph. I take it up to @ 135, at which point he must be about 75-100 yards back. I slow down til about 70 when he catches up, rolls down the window, says "Hey, I'm only stock", and gives me the thumbs up. I reciprocate, tell him "I'm not" and we go on our merry ways.
On the way back home, I get a REAL treat. Brand new (temp tags) yellow 360 Modena in front of me at a stoplight. No other cars around, and 3 open lanes ahead. I'm having a hard time keeping it in my pants at this point.
As the light turns green, I change lanes and get alongside him. I give him a few revs to see if he wants to play. He does! He drops down and guns it. I do the same, but he maintains a 1/2 car lead for about 1/8 mile until we hit the next light up ahead and had to shut it down. I look over to see his face, and he looked pretty shocked. I think he was expecting to pull away easily and, when he couldn't, he probably starting wondering if his Italian Stallion was worth the xtra $120K.
And the best part? Looks like he lives in my neighborhood, so I don't think we've heard the last of this one...

Yeah, I was really pretty shocked when the Ferrari took the bait. I've never had that happen b4. Usually they either a) think it's too easy of a kill, or b) don't wanna risk getting shown up by a lesser car. I guess these were pretty unique circumstances, since no one else was around, it was wide open up ahead, and he prolly wanted to stretch the new 360's legs a lil bit.

I hope that if I own a Ferrari one day, I am confident enough to be able to handle a loss to a "lesser" car. Because at the end of the day, I'd be the one driving home in the Ferrari.... with a tiny dick and inferiority complex..
hehe
jk
Why is a Ferrari deemed a mid-life crissis car? The way I see it, every guy wants a Ferrari for his whole life, but can usually only afford it during mid-life. I see nothing wrong with that.

Nice runs... your putting down alot of rwhp 337 so you better be able to beat a stock M3.
As far as the Modena the longer the duration the further he'd walk, esp the F1 tranny.

I thought the Corvette was the mid life crisis car?
However, if you want to see someone with penis inferiority, take a look at those who drive raised trucks that never goes off-roading.

The 04 Modena puts out 400 hp at the crank, which is roughly 324 to the wheels (figuring a 19% drivetrain loss). It also weighs 200 lbs more than my S. I'm not convinced he's walking away -- at any speed. If I'm missing something, pls let me know.

Have you topped your S2000 out, b/c I saw a vid of a 400 horse EVO get walked by the Modena after 100mph... the Modena tops out at 187 and is a V8 more capable on the high-end.
