S2K v newer gen Camaro
Sup guys. So last night as I was heading home, I get to the front of a stoplight. Who's on my left side? A newer gen red Camaro (not the ones with the 4 square tail lamps, but rather the one with one rectangular tail lamp on both left and right side). From what I see, it's completely stock. Couldn't even tell if it was a v6 or v8 (no badges). Now, this stretch of road is pretty clear around this time of night, and it's a slight curve for about a 1/4 to 1/2 mile. I ALWAYS like to gun my S here. So whether or not the Camaro owner wants to race, I'm going for it.
The light turns green. Sure enough, the Camaro is WOT. He pulls on me out of first gear by maybe a half a car length. By the end of second gear and 9k, I gain some ground, and I'm right next to him. By this time, the road starts to bend a bit. Into third gear, I start pulling slowly away, and by the end of third gear the Camaro is at my rear fender. By the middle of fourth gear, I notice the Camaro start to slow down, as do I. By the time we reach the next light, the race is done, and I make the right turn into my neighborhood with a fat grin on my face.
All in all, I'm pretty happy that my 14 year old car can still hang with these newer cars.
For those of you who want to know, these are my mods on my 02 s2k:
k/n filter in stock air box
snorkel
Greddy dual ti-c
Buddy club racing spec coil overs
18" authentic BBS LMs

+1 on V8. Have driven a V6 Mustang for almost half a year and it's almost like a normal car. It has huge HP so that you could feel 'wheelie' at the beginning of the pull-off but the acceleration and overall performance is.. because of the weight you know! And the 5.0 litre V8 is totally different. Camaro comes with the same thing..
