Mine did the same thing and its def the CDV. It slipped enough to put a really nice Glaze on the clutch and thats why it did not grab when you put it into other gears. drive it around a while and it will eventually scuff up the disc from shifting and start to behave like it should

When you remove the CDV wait a little while before dropping the clutch again (at least a couple hundred miles or so) or it will slip again (due to the glazing).

so you cant clutch drop or sidestep any ap2 with the cdv still intact?
