I would take the 07 because it is cheaper and newer. I feel like the newer s2kis have better styling and refinery. 70k isn't much.. I also don't like cars that just have been sitting around.

I have an '01 that I bought a couple years ago with 38k miles on it, and I'd do it all over again if I had to. But I am admittedly an AP1 guy. When I got my car, the engine bay and such looked much cleaner than any of our new cars in our garage. I disagree with the person stating age affects a car. It doesn't if it's well maintained. Didn't do a thing to mine. Seats were mint, engine and interior looked brand new. Good luck with whatever you choose. I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger on either one if I were you. Like others have stated, just depends on which one you prefer.

Its all about condition. Both age and miles do degrade things, but the extant to which they do is tremendously mitigated by good maintenance. That includes keeping things clean. Keeping car waxed. Protectants applied to all surfaces, etc. Car always garaged. Out of weather and sun.

Also, a car that just sits there unused can be worse than a car that is used daily and even just merely decently maintained.

The first thing I would do to the car is get a valve adjustment with the 06 and up cars exhaust valves tightening up. After that get all the fluids on your schedule and just enjoy the car. Welcome to the S2K world. Later BD

I like the AP1 and low mileage cars. I have an 01 AP1 with about 30K on the odo. But mine has the flex plastic rear window. Mine is garaged when not being driven, so it is not a big issue to me. Everything is like new. I think the best S 2000s are the AP1s with the glass back windows (like the 03). The most important ting to me would be whether the car has been garaged.

I'm with you, 100%. My 02 had 18K miles when it went to bed this winter. Its a great car. Very strong and reliable. I'm starting to search for another very low mileage 02/03 to have in storage ready to take over for this current car when I retire in about 6 years. They are getting hard to find and certainly not dropping in value.
