Great writeup man, glad you had an awesome trip. Totally agree with you - traveling is amazing and everyone should do it more! Only putting yourself out there and taking a step back from your percieved self can you see the bigger picture of things.

Really cool, I have always wanted to do this but wasn't sure if it would be comfortable in my car. Just rolled over 150k miles but I am 100% confident I could take it anywhere and it would hold up. Can't say the same for the MK4 GTI I owned before this...

I would say our cars are comfy up to 8 hours -- anything after that and it starts getting rough. I jokingly [seriously] thought of wearing my padded bike shorts

FYI, musicians ear plugs [that lower the road and wind noise by 10-20 dB] and a hat also go a long way if the top is down.

I can think of a million better cars to take than the s2000, but at the same time, I can't think of any better. I dropped the top and kissed 9,000 RPM at every onramp and opportunity I got. And like you said -- it started right up in the mornings, every single time. No issues.

+1 on traveling cross country, I've been to every state in the union except Hawaii. I traveled by motorcycle, truck and car and in each trip I've made I rediscovered we live in a remarkable country on each trip. Enjoyed your travelogue of your experiences HarryD. So where are you going next?

I'm glad to know that you enjoy traveling and learning. I hope that you will be able to experience much more in your lifetime. Yes, this country is wonderful to visit, and there are wonders beyond our borders. When you get your passport book, the world opens up to you.

You have learned the travel light enough to pack in the S. I've never met a returned traveler who wishes they had packed more. Keep that philosophy and you will enjoy your travels for years to come.

I have personally enjoyed your trip through your writings and photos.

Bon Voyage, wherever your travels take you.

I read the entire story, on-and-off, between patients today. That's a great story and a great road trip. I am the king of road trips myself, much preferring them to flying nowadays. I have been in 40 states and five countries now, and plan to add to that total.

The S2000 is a comfortable road trip car. With stock suspension, it's pretty comfortable, or at least I've found it so on my longest road trips in it....to the Dragon, and to NJ from Cleveland. Seats are just right for my frame, too.
