Talking My NA 05 S2000 1/4 mile

I didnt know where to post in either track talk or n/a talk so i figure ill post it here for everyone to see!

i just recently time my car at Sacramento Raceway CMI Winter WarmUp 1/29 in Sacramento this past weekend. After all the research i read and watch about N/A s2k barely making in the 13s, i was afraid to go to time car. i was hesitate and didnt wanna be bum out if i didnt even break 13s lol, but anyway i went ahead and tried it. I drove 2 1/2 hours to Sacramento from Fresno,Ca with a couple of my buddies. Got there around 10am and went straight to time it. thinking i wouldnt hit 13s i didnt wear a helmet but did bring one for my buddies civic, and on my first run i hit 13.730 @101.45 bouncing 4th gear at the end. Damn i was surprise! 2nd run i hit 13.573 @101.48 again bouncing 4th at the end. 3rd run i hit 14.00s because i miss 2nd gear lol. My first 3 runs i was launching at 5k while riding the clutch and still bog out a little bit. so i decided to launch higher and go into 5th gear. launch at 6k and slowly let of clutch and skid good then caught traction and then the rest is history. I was able to hit 13.271 @103.68!!! after that i kept 13.3, 13.5 consistent. in total i had 8 runs and yes i know about the diff and s2000 isnt ment to go straight but who cares its about having fun with it. I did better then i thought and to my surprise did better then most s2000.

nice driving!

I've only been to the drag strip once. No launch, 14.0 with an AEM CAI (MY00).

13.2 with just I/H/E is impressive

that is impressive, i've never tracked my S2000, but my SRT4 is only running in the mid 13's i feel like the S2000 will be slower

Mid/high 13's out of a stock S2000 is normal. But OP is in CA...and 13.2 is impressive.

The S2000 feels slower because of the lack of torque. A SRT4...or even something mundane like a V6 accord will take a S2000 in the typical stoplight derby. The S2000 needs a little room and a little finesse to get it moving.

Imagine a roll race between your 13 sec SRT and a stock S2000. With momentum, the S2000 is quick. Its just hard to get it moving...and OP did a good job of that with a 1.9 60'.

Awesome. If you had the added trq of the F22, lowered vtec, and a little more massaging with the tune/or ap1 ecu for increase redline headroom, I don't doubt someone could hit high 12's. My S has been a screamer lately with these cool winter temps. Been adding a lot of fuel to the tune to make sure its not running too lean, all that means more power. 55F is a nice temp to run.

That sub-2 60' time is extremely impressive.

Wow - I'm surprised. I didn't think these cars were that quick!

Me neither!

I did notice though, in the winter time (40s-50s here in spoiled Cali), it feels like a completely different animal. Beast mode!
