Holy cow. They want $24,900 for an '01? That sounds crazy high even if it's in showroom condition. That's nearly $6k over even KBB prices which are usually already a little on the high side. I mean, yeah, it looks to be an absolutely gorgeous stock example, based on the pics (which are also very detailed), but still...

I only saw two flaws: an extremely mild scratch in the leather on the bottom part of the driver's seat, and the plastic top is a little cloudy and has a visible cloudy crease. The former is the kind of thing I would ignore and the ladder is something that can usually be removed with some quality plastic cleaner and polish.

If those are the original tires (probably are), and if you plan to actually drive the car as it was intended to be driven, you'll want to put on new ones. 14 year old rubber won't get the kind of grip you really need.

Possibly track/autoX driven

Being in Canada, all of the usual pricing that gets discussed here in this forum doesn't apply the same. Based on what I've seen on this forum over the years, S2000s in Canada are more expensive than in the US. Hopefully some Canadians with S2000s and/or those who know and watch the market there will reply and give some guidance. Best of luck in your search!

What do you think on this price?

http://www.kijiji.ca/v-autos-camions...ationFlag=true

Negoicate down to 12,500, or is the current price fair?

http://www.kijiji.ca/v-autos-camions...ationFlag=true

I've message this guy - no reply yet. The car is a 6 hour bus ride from me - but appears to have been taken well care of. Do you think it is overpriced at 15 k

Also
1) All prices in Canadian Dollars

2) Every car will be inspected at either Acura in Montreal or a local Honda dealer (montreal or local to car location)

Cheers!

2007 BB
One owner 10k miles
10/10 in and out
Northeast

Not looking for a steal, looking for a fair price.

Thanks,

Carl

Here are two S2000s in the Northeast for reference- in NJ at Bridgewater Acura:

http://www.bridgewateracura.com/used...d8c82fb6fa.htm

http://www.bridgewateracura.com/used...6a5533a0e2.htm

Both retailing above the $30K mark, with little to no wiggle room on the price.
Don't use em as a reference . That dealership always has s2000's and there always over priced
[/quote]

Curious, is this dealership just piling up unsold S2Ks, being unwilling to negotiate? In which case they are truly overpriced. Or, are they just being patient and finding buyers, which means they are not overpriced in their case. Somebody must be laying down the shekels

Car is located 2 hour drive from me. I'm a student and have saved for the car for the last couple of years - got a good internship and will be able to afford it!
I'm a Mechanical Eng student - plan to do all the work on the car.

I'm in discussion with the owners. I believe the owner is a ~50 year old mechanic. I will arrange an inspection with the local Honda dealer - provided that checks out, what do you think I should offer them (cash offer)?

I'm located in Montreal, and according to friends/family i'm a lunatic for attempting to daily the car all year (average snowfall is 210cm / year).

Being said - do you think this car seems to have a decent mileage for the age? I'm very excited just thinking about it - I'll post back soon with more questions and details.

P.S : I'm reading all the 'before you buy' threads now

Bad News - I checked the #VIN and the car has been vandalized in 2007 and accidented in 2009. I've decieded not to go for it.

On to the next gem I've found . http://www.kijiji.ca/v-autos-camions...ationFlag=true

Less than 70,000 km 2001 s2000. Same owner since 2004, and has been kept in a heated garage. Says its is non accidented too. He wants 16,900 for it. What do you think I should offer him?

Is 14,500 a massive lowball?

Another I found at a nearby dealer http://www.kijiji.ca/v-autos-camions...ationFlag=true

New updates - car was in an accident in 2002 before it had 10 000 miles. It was also towed then. It was then imported by the current buyer to Canada and kept in a heated garage.

Do you guys think it is still worth it to get an inspection done at a Honda dealer. What price should I offer now? Or Should I walk away.

I purchased a Canadian Carproof report. Is it against forum rules to post the #vin on this site? (incase someone runs a carfax for).

In Canada the car still has a clean title. If it was badly damaged in U.S it would appear in canadian registration as well correct?

I'll double check then report back!
