So what, plenty of women drive Corvettes, Miatas and Minis. Doesn't make them any less capable or fun as performance vehicles.

But Honestly, if i were to tell you i would buy you any Porsche your heart desired, im almost 100% positive your first choice wouldn't be a boxster.

I'd still take a GT3 RS 4.0 for a few more thousand

S2000
positives: unmatched chassis rigidity for a convertible, Civic of RWD cars (reliability, build quality, low maintenance, low parts & labor costs), best shifter (THE benchmark period!)
negatives: Civic of RWD cars (not as inspiring as 986), lack of torque, less steering feel than 986, tight cockpit, pitching stock ride on concrete, limits beyond street legal speeds
986S
positives: torque, telepathic handling, cabin space, frunk, more comfortable ride
negatives: rigidity/cowl shake, reliability, high maintenance/repair costs (parts & labor), interior build quality behind the S2000, limits beyond street legal speeds, easy bake oven (trunk), no std LSD

Intersted to know what were the pro-Porsche points given by their forum.

Did the interior of the Boxster improve drastically between 2004 and present-day? I've seen two or three people comment on the superior Porsche interior. My mom had an 04 Boxster and the interior was not even close to as nice as my S2000.

Wow. It sounds like this actually sums this up quite well. I will say that since you are looking at used vehicles in the same price range, the S2000 would probably be newer and in overall better shape. As for the reliability in Porsches, the older you get the more likely they are to have problems. Not really a deal-breaker but something to think about.
As for what roadster is better, I feel like it's leads to a muddy conclusion. I chose my S2K over a Miata, but that by no means says that Miata is an inferior car. With every price point, you get more. Miata's are super fun to drive. S2K's are super fun to drive and fast. Porsches are super fun to drive, are fast, and give you a more luxurious feel and ride.
Basically, I don't think any writings will help you. You need to drive both and see what you bond with. You will love both, I guarantee it. Go with your gut man. Best of luck!

yeah, the newer boxsters have been redesigned and are much more like the 997 inside. the interior IS about what you would expect in a $50k car. much much nicer than most things out there, and much nicer than the S2k. but, the S2k is a very ergonomic and comfortable place (if a bit dated) to be, and it's a bit of a shame that honda never stepped up to the plate in an interior refresh over the production decade of the S2k. still, a very well put together car and interior, and the seats are fabulous. but then again, the S2k does come at a price premium. sure, cost no object i'd probably go for a 997turbo convertible or 458 convertible, or whatnot, but in the end, the honda is an amazing amazing car, and still, one of THE BEST driving cars out there. the response and feeling of being at one with the car is truly second to none, even in 2011, at least imho
