Just start it up, idle a few seconds, back out of the garage and go. I keep her under 5k rpm until its showing at least a few bars on the temp gauge. Sitting and idling for 5 minutes IMHO is a waste of gas and time, plus the motor takes longer to warm up when it isn't under any sort of load.

I personally let it warm up for 5 minutes in idle and then I drive conservatively shifting under 3K rpms until 3 bars show its warmed up.
Ap2, 5 minutes in idle gets the temperature up to 5 bars or more. Maybe it's different on an AP1.
But, I do what you do I get up to 5 bars or more after a 5 minutes warm up.

5 minute wait? That's a long time. I think there would be nothing wrong if you drove off immediately, just don't flog it until everything warms up. I don't know how good it is for the engine to idle for so long with low oil pressure.

When the car was brand new I gave it about a minute to ensure oil pressure was built up before I headed out, then I took it easy(no WOT or VTEC) for the first several hundred miles, the manual says 600, I couldn't wait that long Now I have about 450 miles on it and I give it a few seconds for the idle to level off then back it out of the garage and take it easy until I see the temp. gauge is several notches up, then I drive spiritedly but not like a monster.
