I haven't read through all 9 pages. But I may have the record here...15 years and 88063 miles! I was flipping my shocks in preparation for a set of karcepts sway bars yesterday and look what I found on my drivers front spring...

How does one not notice these with how the car rides, especially if not on all corners? Must feel like a buckboard ride.

Well, I must admit I've had my head in the wheel wells of the car several times. Changed wheels, tires, ball joints, brake lines, and had to bleed the brakes several times. These spacers were VERY well hidden behind the spring between the coilover and the frame. To be honest, I didn't even see them until I pulled the shock out and rotated it.

i did notice the buckboard ride, but mine is the only s2000 I've driven. So I had no basis for comparison. I just thought it was very stiff. I did notice the rear was eager to step out on right hand turns, but thought this was a trait of the car. Being that I bought the car in November and only drove a couple hundred miles on all season tires, I never pushed it too hard and I never pushed it hard on a right hand turn then a left hand turn to compare. I did notice a squeak on the driver side right wheel on sharp bumps...im pretty sure that disappeared after the spring spacer removal.

Maybe I had my head up my ass, but if so, the original owner definitely did and so did every other mechanic that ever touched the car.

We have 6" of ice on the road now, and I prob won't be able to drive the car for a few weeks, but I'm excited for the new feel. I'm just glad I was able to find it and finish my job before this weather crushed us here in NJ.

Amazing. Well, positive is you have about 0 miles on your dampers, you know, since they haven't compressed since they left the delivery truck to the dealer lol Probably feel like a Cadillac in comparison now.

I found one (only one) similarly hidden in my car, driver front, between the spring and the frame. Only one chunk of rubber was actually in the spring, the rest was just hanging. So in reality, it was only firming up a small fraction of the spring height.

FWIW, I had visually checked before, and never saw it. I only discovered it when I pulled the stock shocks to install coilovers.

Those are definitely noticeable, just have to wonder after 14 years? I can understand the front spacers that were pretty much invisible though.

You are not the winner though, you have 94000kms which is less than 60000miles but great catch!

Just found one of these on a 2003 I picked up about a month ago during my coilovers install. 37k miles. I’m the 4th owner, and purchased from a local Honda dealer too. Loool
