What would you pick out of these 2 items...

It would be the hard top for me by clear margin. I think my hardtop expands my enjoyment of the car immensely. If I were getting wheels the Mugen wheels would not be my choice.

Yeah I'm torn I love how the hardtop changes the look of the car. But I do enjoy driving with the top down. My soft top and oem wheels are in mint condition. In my area it's rare for a oem hardtop to pop up in my color (white). I'm sure I could get one down the road and paint it. As for the wheels Ive always liked them growing up especially that bronze color and you don't see them very often . I think both items hold there value really well.

I would personally opt for the hardtop. Like others have said, it will hold its value better than a set of wheels. When people want an oem hardtop there is only one, when people look for wheels there are thousands of options. However, if you made a thread to ask this question - you will inevitably purchase both items sooner or later.

I would go for the wheels. I had a hardtop with my first and with my current S2000 and in both occasions I sold the hardtop because it was just sitting in my garage all year. I almost always drive top down. In winter and with bad weather I take my daily Civic.

One thing about the hardtop to consider is this: Do you have a place to store it - either hanging from ceiling (as I do) - or on a stand? If not the top becomes a big PIA. If yes, it is wonderful in my opinion because you can put it on and off at will in just a few minutes. I tend to use mine in the spring and fall quite a bit. I have the top down most of the summer.

I bought a hardtop a year ago and haven't taken it off yet. I like convertibles. It's just something about that hardtop that really sets the car off. But if you think you're more of a top down guy, like some, then you should spring for the wheels; even though my bias vote says hardtop.
p.s. Should have made this a pole.
