I have this problem too man, haven't replaced the accelerator pedal sensor yet though. I also need to replace the temperature sensor TS5615-NP
if you come across a fix or any update let me know please...

To clarify a little more.. the DBW s2k's have a "normal" non-DBW pedal and cable, it's just that the cable goes to a "sensor" that's mounted to the driver's side fender under the hood. I think it's cool because they kept the coil spring, and it seems to mimic a regular throttle body plate and spring setup. Here's a picture I snapped w/ the cover removed:
I had to replace both the APP sensor and the Throttle Body.
I replaced the Throttle Body per dealer recommendation first. Then a few weeks later the APP sensor threw codes and I replaced that too.
The sensor on the Throttle body is not sold separately so that is about a $700+ bill. Mine was fortunately under extended warranty when it happened.
The APP sensor I bought later and did myself since I had a $100 deductible it was about the same price for me to buy the part on Ebay and replace it.
