I use one of these to tell me when to change the filter

I can tell you after 90k miles my intake tube was clean, no dust at all. I've used these gauges for over 40 years they work good and let you know when to change out the filter before the restriction starts to hurt performance.

I've not been a big fan of cotton gauze style filters since they tend to have large holes in them that can let in dust, but I love my Mugen intake and it uses such a filter made by AFE. I run a K&N pre-filter to keep dust out, so I am happy with the setup, I like the fact that it has an integrated air-horn and picks up cold air without water risk.

It does look like K&N but definitely not right size for s2000. I'm not sure if this would affect performance since surface area is smaller..

Where did you get your pre-filter ? Is your AFE the same size as the K & N CAI filter ? Part number would be awesome if it's the same size, thanks.

K&N lets too much dirt go by if you are looking for something for a replacement filter for your FIPK i recommend AEM DRYFLOW filter which is a dry filter with no oil but still has excellent flow and filtration!!

part numberAEM 21-2057DK

https://www.aemintakes.com/search/pr...Prod=21-2057DK

Again this is a replacement for anyone who is running a FIPK who wants a better filtering then the oiled kn filter and still have excellent flow. This filter is slightly larger but fits with no problem
