knocking noise after valve adjustment
hello fellow s2k owners,
I am pretty new owner of a s2k. i had for a couple months did the maintenance and all. i recently did a valve adjustment and after a couple weeks, a weird knocking sound kicks in the background at first you could hardly hear it during warming up but now you actually hear it during cold start then the sound dies down a little bit when the car is at operating temp. i ruled out tct because the sound wasnt like the sound i heard from the videos and and valve adjustments because i recently did it and was thinking maybe its the piston return springs but before i go towards the piston return i was planning on re-doing the valve adjustments and i was wondering do i still need to switch the rubber grommets brand new since i just changed them 2 months ago. if its possible if you guys could attach healthy s2000 engine sound in your replies so i can do a comparison.
- i also added lucas oil about 1/4 cause maybe the oil was thin but it doesnt seem to be the case and then i added the whole bottle but still didnt work.
- the sound was more intermitent knocking and goes away after driving a little bit but after a month i hear it even after driving the car a little bit.
if someone could help me on this issue that would be really helpful thank you guys in advance!
p.s the car is an 05 with ap2 engine.

Pretty sure it's overly loose valves, don't worry you can re use the vc gasket and seals.

This is how the noise sounds like on cold start and operating temp.
the noise(knocking) is subtle and sounds like the noise u hear from a truck engine.
Thank you for the response. i am going to re check my work this weekend!
Ill keep this posted, Happy Thanksgiving!

Follow up on my reply, when reving the engine the noise disappears. comparing from the video only the noise u hear in the first few seconds in the video is consistent but subtle. Thanks again for your replies guys!
