Front Subframe Bolt Sizes AP1/AP2 Help !
Hey guys, i am part way through dropping the gearbox to replace the clutch on my MY08, i am just about to lower the front sub-frame.
I want to replace the 6 bolts on the sub-frame when i reinstall it and want to know which bolts to order, (see pic) i am aware Honda changed the bolt sizes / heads from AP1 to AP2. The Helms manual I have is for the AP1.
Is there any difference in bolt sizes/length other than the heads? On the AP2 they are 19mm. And on the AP1 they are a mix of 19mm and 17mm.
Any Part numbers and advice would be great thanks !

Check the Honda parts blowup for 2006 (or your year) under the "CROSS BEAM" section:

Honda only changed the bolt HEAD sizes. Not the SHAFT sizes. They are still M14 or M12 (shaft sizes/diameter). The only difference is in the size of the wrench you need to interface with the bolt HEAD.
Hope this helps.

Honda says to replace them. If they are removed, they are supposed to be replaced.
But you're right. They can be reused. Billman endorses this so long as bolt is still in good shape.
I think its one of those common sense areas where Honda can't trust all techs will use the same criteria to decide if bolt is good enough to reuse. So for consistency, if they say always replace, if a bolt ever crossthreads into captive nut in frame, its the techs fault for reusing old bolt, not Honda's fault.
Use common sense, and even if a subframe bolt looks fine, but doesn't thread in smoothly, stop. Back it out, replace it with a new one. Be very cautious about buggering up the threads in the unibody.
