Hey everyone, Newbie here

So it started raining here in CA and this is my first time in the rain with my S and I noticed this morning when I got in the car that it was leaking (few drops nothing major since it was in the rain all night) on the passenger side. I checked the window and door and it seems they were shut correctly, now I just got back from my lunch and I drove it (still raining) and after I shut the door then it starts leaking a few drops in the driver's side.

Is it normal? what can I do to prevent it? (Some pics below)

No, it should not have leaked, not even a drop.

Are your seals cracked at all? That leak could also suggest the seals aren't seated properly.

Two things.

It is possible to adjust the side windows a number of ways (unlike ordinary auto side windows)

You can also hand lubricate the rubber seals, rub in well with your fingers, a pure silicone dielectric paste you can find at auto parts store (3M makes a good one) or plumbers grease at a big box hardware store. It is the same stuff as Shinitzu that Honda sells.

Hi Chuck S,

First time owning an S2000 and I didn't know I had to do that maintenance, I will look into it. However what can be done now that is leaking?

Do what we suggest (once again the Shin Etsu is nothing but dielectric silicone grease) and rub in a thin film, a little goes a long way, and then see if the leak stops.

How would a thin film of shin etsu stop a water leak now? The lack of shin etsu probably caused cracks which resulted in the current leak. The shin etsu grease is used for prevention. I say inspect the seals for major cracks or gaps due to improper placement.
