Default Fuel tank capacity different from what is claimed from honda

I've read many many times our tank capacity is 13.2?
I should know better seeing I'm on s2000 #3. But anyways
I have an 02 with 33k miles. I cannot seem to put more than 10 gallons even with zero bars an gas light on.
Now I did buy my car from the insurance auction wrecked I had replaced a lot of suspension parts. I was thinking maybe the sending unit got knocked out of spec and it is not recording properly ?
Any opinions appreciated thanks

I ran out of gas once.

It is 13.2 gallons. The low fuel light comes on and the bars run out long before the tank is empty.

Having no fuel when the gas light turned on would be pretty silly dont you think?

The fuel reads about 3.2 off so you can still get places. Plus remember the size of a gas tank, 1 gallon in nothing when it is spread out in the entire tank. The same thing applies to other things, ladders have rating, for example, if it says 250 pounds MAX, if you are 255 the ladder won't break because it is made to with stand about 300 + lbs. but for rating sake they think of this.

Not only is it possible, it is true. I take it that you can't be bothered to read an owner's manual?

When the light comes on in my '05, I have pretty close to 10 litters left.

I manually filled my gas tank, one gallon at a time. It took over 13. Why did I do this you ask? I have an aftermarket dash cluster, and that was the only way to get the voltages for the amount of gas in the tank.

Yup. Zero bars and empty are two different things. They have to factor in a little bit of a reserve for those that don't fill up until the gauge reads zero bars. You're confusing the tank capacity with how much you use before fillup. The capacity certainly meets Honda's specs.

But this really applies to any car -- not just the S.
