The work shop manual only recommends Ultra flange II or Permatex grey (same stuff).

Guess I should have researched this as well, looks like Ultraflange II is right stuff for oil pans. I unknowingly used the "wrong" stuff Hondabond HT on my TSX K24 oil pan and despite doing a lousy / rushed job it's not leaking.

From Honda-tech site:

" The list below details each example where a gasket P/N was called for, and which alternates would suffice in that exact application. If only one item is listed, that means that item was exclusively identified. Lastly, the text in parentheses details the newer version of the item required in the manual. "

Nice, which manual is that from windhund? I got the 00-03 one and it only mentions 08718-0009.

Depends where you live!

I was also looking for my build and found (or i think) that for the USA Honda gives Ultra Flange II and for Europe it's the Hondabond!

I live in Greece (Europe) and the local dealer has no match for the Ultra Flange II part no.!

Anyway I ended up with Permatex Supra Grey.
