I have seen several with this same problem and always cyl #1. Combination of valve seats and worn valve guides. The worn guides will not allow the valves to seat centered on the seats causing a misfire or low compression. After the head is removed find a good machinist and have all the valves, seats and guides checked.

Yesterday I got blining check engine light & today I have done the diagnostic & got all 6 error codes.
P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0300 (Random mis-fire), P1399.

My mind is going into numerous different scenarios, but I am going to start with compression test.
I will keep this one updated.

I had 1399, 0300, 0301, and 0302 on the way back from the airport Friday. I did a compression check on all four cylinders today and found the following:
1: 210psi
2: 195 psi
3: 190 psi
4: 210psi
This is interesting because #'s 1&4 are the same as they were in December (air is ~40 degrees F higher today than in December), but #'s 2&3 are ~25psi LOWER than in December!!!! So...I'm a little worried. I've cleared my codes and swapped the ignition coils around (because I only had misfire codes on #'s 1 & 2) and am now waiting to see when the codes come back.

I can hear a slight rough idle when I'm idling (duh), but I don't know if it is related because it has been going on for 9 months and the CEL only came on two days ago. Any ideas?

P.s. I'm gonna keep a update going too. What have you found on yours so far Onions?

I just read through your other topic. Sounds like something I might be doing (as far as rebuilding the head) in the near future. I just hope my S can make it another 2-3 months of once per week easy driving until I get some other things taken care of (I'm moving half way across the country in 4 weeks). I plan to do everything except the machining my self, we will see how it goes in a few months. I hope yours gets taken care of and you can get the proper parts replaced/upgraded to sufficient ones so you don't have this issue anymore.
